在臺北城的發展史上，「大橋頭」、「大稻埕」是大家耳熟能詳的「地名」。臺北捷運也和「大橋頭」、「大稻埕」產生連結，因為新莊線的市區段在「大稻埕」設有「大橋國小站」。
「大橋國小站」位在重慶北路與民權西路交會口，是長162公尺、寬20.9公尺的地下4層車站。設有5個出入口，分別為：大橋國小校門、民權西路225巷口、民權西路與重慶北路交口、民權西路與延平北路交口北側（左右各1個），並與原民權西路、重慶北路及延平北路、民權西路口之人行道聯通。
大橋國小站的建築特色是以「大橋故事」為主題，燈箱及人行地下道牆面絹印淡水河、迪化街市集意象，軌道側牆設計有「淡水河」、「迪化街市集」畫作；出入口側牆玻璃貼上淡水河剪紙圖案，欄杆則是迪化街街屋立體剪景圖案。全站呈現獨特人文風貌及與當地文化相容的特色。
「大橋頭」是指民權西路要上臺北大橋的這一帶地區，它也是「大稻埕」的一部分，由於當時此處有面積廣大的曬稻場，該地遂因而得名（「埕」閩南語稱庭院）。在臺灣史上，「大稻埕」於清末時接替艋舺，成為臺北最繁華的地方；日治時期，大稻埕經濟、商業活動頻繁，也是人文薈萃之地。
「大稻埕」的迪化老街，一直是南北雜貨、茶行為主的市集，之後又形成米業和布匹、中藥等密集的商街；目前，一年一度熱鬧非凡、人市鼎沸的年貨大街，依然展現風華。
未來新莊線市區段完工後，大家只要搭捷運在「大橋國小站」下車，就到「大稻埕」了！來一趟「古街之旅」，看看霞海城隍廟、大稻埕辜宅、逛逛原臺北北警察署等大同區的名勝古蹟。喜歡小吃的朋友更可以走到延平北路三段附近，享受各式美食小吃，不但口味獨特，價錢又公道；而晚間的夜市，人氣也盛，值得一逛再逛。

An Old-street Tour Starts From Daqiao Elementary School Station
Dadaocheng was the most prosperous area in Taipei during the late Qing Dynasty. In the Taipei City section of the Xinzhuang line, Daqiao Elementary School Station will be located in Dadaocheng. The theme of the station's architectural design is “the Story of Daqiao”, presenting characteristics of unique human styles and compatibility with local culture.
When the Xinzhuang line begins operation, passengers will arrive right in the
heart of Dadaocheng by taking the MRT line and getting off at Daqiao Elementary
School Station. It will be possible to have an old-street tour by visiting
Xiahai Chenghuang Temple and Dadaocheng Gu’s mansion, and rambling around
historic sites in Datong District such as the original Taipei North Police
Department. In addition, local gourmet snacks handed down from one generation to
another and night markets are also attractions that are not to be missed and
deserve frequent visits.
